Disappear 04:15
Well, I never thought that things would end this way That awful silence as I don’t know what to say Well, I should have known that both things can’t be true You can’t need me more than I need you And I remember when we started down this road The ocean blessed us with the world and all its tears And in that moment I forgot the debts I owed The sun it dried us and it burned away our fears Ch: Do we disappear? Or fade away? Or do we carry on for just one more day Do we disappear … Now I stand here in the wake of all that’s gone You have left me with a story and a kiss And we can argue who is right and who is wrong But in the end it is the clarity I’ll miss
2.
Lock the door before I leave Check it twice just to be sure You can’t be too careful these days It’s not the same place anymore Take a left down at the street Walking slowly into town If a bus comes, maybe I’ll catch it Or a taxi, flag it down Find a place to rest my feet Have a drink and watch the view Maybe I’ll see someone I know Maybe I’ll meet someone new These are the days of in between These are the days of drift along I didn’t plan to be in this place I still don’t know what I did wrong
3.
I didn’t know the gun was loaded While it was pointed at my heart I didn’t know that we were over Until you made a brand new start I never thought we’d last forever You always thought you could do better I knew we’d one day drift apart Always had one foot out the door It’s just I didn’t see this coming Always taking me for granted A need to make a brand new start / I knew you’d make a brand new start Ch: You should know poetry You should hear frequencies You should understand everything I should know when to leave And if I seem a little dusty Don’t you make yourself the victim It’s just that I have fallen hard Don’t you play the victim card But I am picking up the pieces Oh, I’m sure that you’ll recover And now I make a brand new start Being you is not that hard I didn’t know the gun was loaded You should have seen that it was loaded While it was pointed at my heart I don’t believe you have a heart I didn’t know that we were over Oh believe me, it is over Until you made a brand new start / Hope you enjoy your brand new start

Goodbye 05:52
I never can say goodbye Seems like a simple thing The words they don’t seem to come out of my mouth I know that it’s time to go The shadows are marking time Everything has its place inside my mind If I ever needed someone If I ever needed you You would see it in my eyes You would know it to be true A circle is not a line We’re crossing a great divide Looking ahead I hope you will be there I never can say goodbye Seems like a simple thing The words they don’t seem to come out of my mouth

about

When a year-long trip around the world with his family was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Andrew Bower (vocals/guitar) ended up back in his hometown of Brisbane, Australia. After several years of being separated by an ocean from bandmates Sean Bower (bass) and Dan McNaulty (drums) while Andrew was living in Houston, Texas, the band now all live in the same city, enabling a flurry of recording activity resulting in a busy 2022 release schedule.

The second 2022 release is the Disappear EP (release date May 20). The title is a jangly slice of powerpop chronicling the early stages of an ill-fated relationship, featuring layered guitar hooks and lush vocals.

Other tracks on the EP include The Days of in Between (a short story laden with guitar hooks), Brand New Start (an alt-country / new wave hybrid breakup song) and Goodbye (which starts as a spiky post-punk influenced tune then blossoms into a hypnotic, sprawling psych-tinged workout).
